Disa clavicornis is yet another admired member of montane grassland vegetation belonging to the orchid family.
Deep pink flowers with such conspicuous spurs at the back of their dorsal sepals are sure to be noticed in the veld. The spurs curve variably or may occasionally be straight, all ending in bulging tips.
The pale leaves bear their acutely pointed tips close to the stem. The plant in the photo displays several leaf colours as well as leaf margin colours (iSpot; www.orchidspecies.com).
