    Angraecum chamaeanthus leaves

    Angraecum chamaeanthus leaves
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Judd Kirkel Welwitch

The distichous leaves of Angraecum chamaeanthus are elliptic to oblong, thick and leathery. They are stalkless, tapering to acutely pointed tips. In the photo the leaves are seen to curve back while their margins curve up, making the leaf channelled. Longitudinal veins can sometimes be discerned upon the leaf surfaces. The leaf dimensions are 6 mm wide and 3 cm long (www.zimbabweflora.co.zw; www.africanorchids.dk).
