    The pale bluish mauve Freylinia tropica flower in picture displays its rounded petal lobes joined near the corolla mouth. The inside of the flower tube that may become 1 cm long is creamy white; so are the anthers.

    Note the unevenly distributed marginal teeth on the upper leaf parts (Coates Palgrave, 2002; www.plantzafrica.com).
