    Indigofera obcordata bud opening

    Indigofera obcordata bud opening
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Thabo Maphisa

This half-opened flower of Indigofera obcordata is close to younger buds in the raceme. They all have short flower stalks. The raceme grows from a leaf axil.

The narrowly pointed green sepals are visible, their surfaces whitish with hair. The outer surfaces of both keel and standard have a fine covering of tiny hairs as well (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2010; iSpot).
