Lobelia jasionoides leaves

The alternate leaves of Lobelia jasionoides are narrowly oblong or obovate in shape. They taper at the base without petioles to speak of. The leaf margins are sharply toothed, the teeth usually long, sometimes irregularly shaped and spaced, although not in the specimen of the photo. Leaf surfaces are slightly fleshy and nearly hairless. Leaves become up to 2,2 cm long and 1 cm wide. Wider leaves may occur on plants enjoying at least partial shade (Bean and Johns, 2005; Manning, 2007; www.plantzafrica.com).
