    Pelargonium crithmifolium leaf

    Pelargonium crithmifolium leaf
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Thabo Maphisa

The thick, succulent stems of Pelargonium crithmifolium are darkly olive green on this plant seen near Oudtshoorn at the end of a rainy winter.

The lobes of the much divided leaf have angular margins in fairly irregular patterns. The pale green leaf colour on this hairless new growth is shared with the connecting stalks that are furrowed lengthwise (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; Le Roux, et al, 2005; iNaturalist; iSpot; https://www.llifle.com).
