    Senegalia nigrescens young tree
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Ivan Lätti

Young Senegalia nigrescens trees are often tall and erect with small side branches, giving them a narrowly cylindrical appearance. This one has many smallish knobs covering the stem that displays early longitudinal fissuring (Carr, 1976; Coates Palgrave, 2002).
