    Aristea juncifolia fruit

    Aristea juncifolia fruit
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Thabo Maphisa

The green fruits of Aristea juncifolia are three-winged. They are still topped by the remains of withered corollas in this photo. The capsules have just started to dry out, turning yellowish brown on the ridges of their segments.

The flower stalk of this species is mostly unbranched and erect, reaching heights of between 12 cm and 30 cm. The photo was taken in December in Fernkloof (Bean and Johns, 2005; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iNaturalist; iSpot).
