    Massonia pustulata

    Massonia pustulata
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Thabo Maphisa

Massonia pustulata leaves is sometimes pale green and without the common maroon blotches as seen here. The flower cluster has already faded and the leaves show signs of the wear and tear of a busy season. New leaves will replace them at the onset of winter rain. The pustules on M. pustulata leaves may vary considerably in size and prominence.

There may be a revision of the genus in the offing that my clear up some classification ambiguity (www.pacificbulbsociety.org).
