A citizen of higher elevations Drakensberg grassland in the north of the Eastern Cape, the west of KwaZulu-Natal and the Maluti Mountains of Lesotho, Holothrix scopularia is a tuber-based perennial, producing annual above-ground leaves, stem and flowers. Flower colours include pale pink, pale yellow and white. They are seen from before midspring to after midsummer (Pooley, 1998; iNaturalist; https://www.pacificbulbsociety.org).
