    Othonna species nova (vanillodora)
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Louis Jordaan

Othonna species nova (vanillodora) is a shrub reaching 70 cm.

The species, yet to be formally described and its name confirmed, occurs only in the west of the Little Karoo. The photo was taken on the Minwater farm near Oudtshoorn.

The habitat is rocky, loam soil scrubveld where guarri trees are often present. The palatable plant is browsed by stock (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015).
