    This Little Karoo Leipoldtia schultzei plant makes a statement on its bare shale patch. It lives on the Minwater farm near Oudtshoorn.

    L. schultzei is known in Afrikaans as the rankvygie (scrambling mesemb).

    Leipoldtias grow easily but do not yet find much favour with gardeners (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; Smith, et al, 1998; iNaturalist).
