    Tylecodon similis flower

    Tylecodon similis flower
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Judd Kirkel Welwitch

The few yellow green to creamy white flowers of Tylecodon similis appear in late summer when the deciduous leaves have disappeared. The flowers are erect, the cylindrical tubes of about 8 mm long bearing maroon stripes and smaller markings on their perianth segments.

The tube ends in five, small frilly-margined lobes. The short, thick, pale-yellow anthers are exserted among the frills. There are fine hairs in the corolla throat (Grenier, 2019; Williamson, 2010; iNaturalist; https://worldofsucculents.com).
