    Quaqua parviflora subsp. parviflora

    Quaqua parviflora subsp. parviflora
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Judd Kirkel Welwitch

Quaqua parviflora subsp. parviflora is a semi-erect stem succulent often found branched under bushes in the arid Richtersveld.

The star-shaped flowers grow near the tips of the stems. The corolla is yellow, sometimes greenish yellow, its bulging lobes blotched red-brown, some of the markings transversal stripes.

Five tiny corona lobes are present in the flower centre. There is also a very small bud visible close to the flower (Williamson, 2010; White and Sloane, 1937).
