    Lachenalia xerophila leaves

    Lachenalia xerophila leaves
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Judd Kirkel Welwitch

Lachenalia xerophila grows two stem-sheathing leaves, one above the other on opposite sides of the stem, close to the ground and immediately below the inflorescence.

The leaves are ovate, tapering to acutely pointed tips. They curve in along the sometimes wavy margins and downwards at the tips. The smooth blades are fleshy and blue-green in their upper parts, pale green to yellow-green and whitish near the base (iNaturalist).
