    Hermannia flammea flowers

    Hermannia flammea flowers
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Judd Kirkel Welwitch

Hermannia flammea flowers are dark red but may occasionally be yellow. The five petals are twisted into a spiral and spread out at the tips around the narrow flower throat. Flowers occur in small clusters and are small, about 5 mm in diameter.

The leaves are oblong to triangular with short petioles and may be toothed near their tips (Curtis-Scott, et al, 2020; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; Gledhill, 1981; iNaturalist).
