    Arctotheca populifolia olive-green old leaves

    Arctotheca populifolia olive-green old leaves
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Thabo Maphisa

New, stem-tip leaves of Arctotheca populifolia are almost white from velvety hair coverings.

The older leaves on this plant have no lobing or toothing below the rounded upper blade part. They have few hairs left, the loss colouring them olive-green. The prominent leaf midribs in the lower blade halves are similar on leaves of both age groups but not much on the youngest leaves that are still small (Manning, 2007; Mustart, et al, 1997; iNaturalist).
