    Crassula lactea stems

    Crassula lactea stems
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Thabo Maphisa

The decumbent Crassula lactea stems linking a number of leaf rosettes to the root system are thick and pale brown, sometimes with darker patches from a thinner stage that became separated.

Several of these stems may spread in all directions on the ground, some up to 40 cm long (Frandsen, 2017; Smith, et al, 2017; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iNaturalist).
