    Ursinia anethoides flowerhead

    Ursinia anethoides flowerhead
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Thabo Maphisa

The flowerheads of Ursinia anethoides grow on naked peduncles of about 10 cm long.

The ray florets spread to about 2 cm, forming a shallow bowl around the many-flowered yellow disc. The oblong to narrowly elliptic rays are yellow on both surfaces, sometimes possibly reddish below.

Flowering happens from late spring to autumn. The photo was taken in May (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; Gledhill, 1981; iNaturalist).
