    Cliffortia ilicifolia branch tip

    Cliffortia ilicifolia branch tip
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Thabo Maphisa

A young Cliffortia ilicifolia branch, often erect, starts off with alternate leaves up its length. These leaves soon develop into few-leaved rosettes, the beginnings of branchlets.

The smooth stems are hairless (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; Privett and Lutzeyer, 2010; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984).
