    Hibiscus pusillus long-haired seeds

    Hibiscus pusillus long-haired seeds
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Thabo Maphisa

The yet to be blown away, globose seeds of Hibiscus pusillus are dark in picture, covered in long, pale hairs needing a brush. These silky coverings may be nearly white, somewhat red or brown (Curtis-Scott, et al, 2020; Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; Manning, 2009; Pooley, 1998; Van Wyk and Malan, 1997; Gledhill, 1981; iNaturalist).
