    Oxalis ciliaris var. ciliaris leaves

    Oxalis ciliaris var. ciliaris leaves
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Thabo Maphisa

Narrower Oxalis ciliaris var. ciliaris leaves were seen on this plant in the Kouga Valley than on those of the Biedouw Valley in the west. The leaflet margins are hairy, probably the reason why the ciliaris name was chosen. Leaflet tips are curved down, the three leaflets of similar length.

Leaf petioles and the plant’s main stem are redder than the thick and long flower pedicels, all of them hairy (Curtis-Scott, et al, 2020; Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iNaturalist).
