    Crassothonna cylindrica flowerhead peduncles

    Crassothonna cylindrica flowerhead peduncles
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Thabo Maphisa

The peduncles of Crassothonna cylindrica flowerheads emerge near the stem-tips. They are cylindrical, rigid and curving out and up to present a loose, yellow inflorescence.

Lower stems are soon devoid of leaves, becoming grey and woody (Le Roux, et al, 2005; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iNaturalist).
