    Jamesbrittenia tortuosa spreading shrub

    Jamesbrittenia tortuosa spreading shrub
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Thabo Maphisa

A Jamesbrittenia tortuosa shrub spreads wider than it is tall. That can be observed when game and stock haven’t browsed the palatable plant to a small stump.

The one in picture was found in the Kammanassie with many white flowers scattered around its stem-tips during April. This bush is not dense, branched much low down with leaves lost from lower stems (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iNaturalist).
