    Erica glomiflora var. glomiflora leaves

    Erica glomiflora var. glomiflora leaves
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Thabo Maphisa

The sometimes hairy leaves of Erica glomiflora var. glomiflora grow in whorls of three up the young stems, here appearing scattered. Short and oblong to needle-like, the leaf margins are rolled under. There is a whitish gap visible on the lower surfaces of some leaves from denser hairs in the gaps between the margins.

The yellow-green leaves at stem-tips ascend, the darker green ones slightly lower down tend to sag and spread (Manning and Helme, 2024; Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; Manning, 2007; Moriarty, 1997; iNaturalist).
