    Drosanthemum prostratum is a creeping shrublet, its stems becoming about 30 cm long.

    The species distribution is limited to the Clanwilliam region by the Olifants River and eastwards to the Biedouw Valley where the photo was taken.

    The habitat is dry fynbos or renosterveld on sandstone slopes. The wellbeing of the species in nature is unknown early in the twenty first century, due to lack of information (Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iNaturalist; http://redlist.sanbi.org).
