    Trachyandra hairy species inflorescence

    Trachyandra hairy species inflorescence
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Thabo Maphisa

The much-branched inflorescence of this very hairy Trachyandra reminds of Trachyandra divaricata, but that plant lacks the hairiness, its leaves quill-like and smooth.

The open flowers here have the familiar Trachyandra recurved tepals, keeled with brown central, longitudinal stripes.

The closed buds in picture are green or brown with white stripes (Manning, 2007; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iNaturalist).
