    Geissorhiza leipoldtii flower

    Geissorhiza leipoldtii flower
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Thabo Maphisa

The flowers of Geissorhiza leipoldtii grow spirally in a spike on a wiry peduncle. Flower colour on the six tepals is usually white, sometimes pale blue. The stamens are often unequal, one of the three shorter.

Flowering happens late in winter and early in spring. The photo was taken in September (Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iNaturalist).
