    Felicia bergeriana flowerhead

    Felicia bergeriana flowerhead
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Thabo Maphisa

The flowerheads of Felicia bergeriana grow solitary on long, usually naked peduncles up to 8 cm long. The involucre comprises two rows of bracts.

The about twelve ray florets are blue around a yellow disc. White flowering plants are occasionally seen. The ray florets do not always have pappus bristles.

Flowering happens from late winter to after midspring. The photo was taken in September (Manning, 2007; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iNaturalist; Wikipedia).
