    Cyphostemma lanigerum stems

    The upper stems of Cyphostemma lanigerum are pale, rigid and hairy. They are greenish cream, reddish at nodes and red in the branched inflorescence.

    Inflorescences are borne a short distance above the upper foliage (Van Wyk and Malan, 1997; iNaturalist; http://growwild.co.za).
