Ferraria macrochlamys subsp. macrochlamys flower

The Ferraria macrochlamys subsp. macrochlamys flower is pale yellow to whitish cream. The midrib bands are markedly paler on the bigger, outer tepals. These bands may also be pale green. Blue-green spots on the central and lower tepal parts are more conspicuous on the bigger ones.

The tepals attenuate abruptly from their broad mid-sections into narrowly elongated tips that curl variously. The upper tepal parts have strongly crisped or frizzled margins where the colouring is yellower, sometimes a deeper shade than on the flower in picture.

The filaments, joined low down in a central column, spread at the top, close to the fringed style branch tips that lie against them (Le Roux, et al, 2005; iNaturalist).
