    Huernia verekeri more spots

    This Huernia verekeri flower has much more maroon mottling on the inner part of the corolla lobes. This colouring extends into the base of the shallow tube around the coronas where the surface is sometimes pale and unmarked. The red is also present on the coronas.

    The corolla lobe-tip twisting is also nearly absent here.

    The young stem in picture has elaborately elongated tubercle tips, lost from the short, scarred tips of the older stem (Frandsen, 2017; iNaturalist).
