The grey-green leaves of Nivenia stokoei are narrowly sword-shaped (ensiform), arranged in several fan-like clusters up the woody stems. The blades are smooth, fibrous, lacking midribs and ending in acutely pointed tips (Manning, 2007; Bean and Johns, 2005; www.plantzafrica.com).
