Agathosma riversdalensis is a sprawling, single-stemmed shrublet reaching heights from 20 cm to 60 cm.

The species distribution is along the Western Cape south-coast from Arniston to Albertinia.

The habitat is fynbos on sandy and limestone flats of the Agulhas Plain. The species is considered vulnerable in habitat early in the twenty first century due to habitat degradation from alien plant invasion and activities relating to thatch harvesting (Manning, 2007; Mustart, et al, 1997; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iNaturalist; http://redlist.sanbi.org).
