Albuca suaveolens leaves

Albuca suaveolens leaves
Author: Ivan Lätti

Three leaves were enough this year for this Albuca suaveolens plant to produce nutrition for flowering and replenishing its bulb. Some plants of this species have already bid their leaves farewell when the inflorescence develops.

Here the flowering is nearly done, the leaves still strong, although tip damage is significant. Channelling is always present above the sheathing at the base on the slowly tapering blades.

The scape of the inflorescence is cylindrical and grey-purple, emerging from the clasp of the leaves below (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iNaturalist).
