    Trachyandra muricata branching into a panicle

    Branching of the young Trachyandra muricata inflorescence into a many-flowered panicle continues into many diminishing branchlets higher up, each subtended by a membranous bract. These bracts are broad at the base, narrowly attenuating into brown tips.

    Flowering happens from before midwinter to after midspring. The photo was taken in August (Manning, 2007; Le Roux, et al, 2005; Manning and Goldblatt, 1997; iNaturalist).
