    Bulbine lagopus maybe

    There are 73 Bulbine species of which 67 in South Africa, the others in Australia. Some of them look like the bulbinellas, but Bulbine flowers have hairy or bearded stamens.

    More than one Bulbine species has the common name kopiva and is used for treating burn wounds. This specimen was photographed near the sea in duneland at the De Hoop Nature Reserve. It may be Bulbine lagopus, one of the seven Bulbine species listed as growing in this Reserve.
