    This is a Gauteng variety of Helichrysum nudifolium. The plant grows in grassland. The leaves of this perennial herb form a basal rosette or several of them, new rosettes growing from underground runners.

    The basal leaves are rigid, narrow and ovate, green above and white woolly below. The leaf base is stalk-like. Three to seven longitudinal veins are present, prominent on the lower surfaces of the leaves (Pooley, 1998; Van Wyk and Malan, 1997).
