This Helichrysum nudifolium growing in Gauteng grassland has flat-topped inflorescences of many creamy heads in the bud stage, ready to open.
The leaves form a basal rosette or several of them, new rosettes growing from underground runners. The stalked leaves are rigid, narrow and ovate, green above and white woolly below. Three to seven longitudinal veins are present, prominent on the lower surfaces of the leaves (Pooley, 1998; Van Wyk and Malan, 1997; iNaturalist).
