Daubenya zeyheri is a bulbous plant of the Hyacinthaceae family that grows in the sandy, calcareous coastal scrub near Saldanha in the Western Cape winter rainfall area.

The pretty red flowers appear in winter. As the picture indicates it sits flat on the ground between the prostrate, opposite leaves. These plants are not common outside their core habitat and not likely to be noticed unless stumbled upon in the flowering season.
