    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Thabo Maphisa

This Lapeirousia pyramidalis subsp. pyramidalis plant displays some of the pink, blue and lilac tinges the flowers of the subspecies are capable of when they veer away from white or cream.

Tepal margins tend to be white, the inside surfaces slightly differently coloured to the outsides. The spreading tepal lobes are broadly spoon-shaped. The curved style branches in picture have a toothed to granular appearance on their upper surfaces beyond the points where they fork (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2010; Manning, 2007; www.pacificbulbsociety.org).
