    The stems of this Searsia glauca shrub growing in shade of big trees in the Botanical Garden of the University of Stellenbosch are pale brown, unlike those of the plant growing in full sunshine also shown in this Album. A slight change towards greyness appears on some older branches.

    There is an angular positioning of branches characteristic of the species (Van Wyk and Van Wyk, 1997; Coates Palgrave, 2002).
