    The flowers of Indigofera hilaris are produced in short-stalked racemes from leaf axils just above or among the leaves. The flowers are reddish pink, about 6 mm in diameter. The corolla is dominated by the large, reflexed banner above, the other petals being narrow. The five, narrow, hairy sepals can be seen around the corolla base.

    This plant was seen northeast of Matatiele in the Eastern Cape in January (iSpot; Manning, 2009).
