    Crassula umbella old flowers

    This Crassula umbella plant shows its creamy yellow flower stalk as well as the leaf pair to be some distance from the ground. The flowers appear in clusters well spaced on the stalk in the form of a thyrse.

    In this specimen they are mostly finished flowering, the photo having been taken in September near Oudtshoorn at the end of, or slightly beyond the normal blooming season (Euston-Brown and Kruger, 2023; Smith et al, 2017; Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; Le Roux, et al, 2005; iNaturalist).
