    Crassula arborescens leaf close-up

    Crassula arborescens leaf close-up
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Thabo Maphisa

The pale, blue-grey leaf colour of Crassula arborescens have these darker spots scattered over their surfaces. Seen from a distance in bright sunlight, the leaves appear almost white and some detail may be missed by the observer, such as the red margins or the almost sessile blades in equal, opposite pairs.

The plant is both a stem succulent and a leaf succulent, doubly prepared for drought periods that may come.

Much can be learnt in the www.plantzafrica.com article on C. arborescens (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2010; www.plantzafrica.com).
