    Aloe ferox variations in inflorescence

    Aloe ferox variations in inflorescence
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Thabo Maphisa

The red and orange flowers of Aloe ferox in this photo taken in May in the Rooiberg are a familiar sight. Yellow and brownish flowered specimens are also often seen, but the white form is rare.

Only one panicle of usually four to eight racemes per rosette appears every flowering season (Coates Palgrave, 2002; Reynolds, 1974; iNaturalist).
