Dimorphotheca cuneata in the Karoo near Touws River

Dimorphotheca cuneata in the Karoo near Touws River

The western Karoo is livened up in spring after winter rain has invigorated its flowering plants.

Special among these is Dimorphotheca cuneata that graces tracts of this veld. Abundance as seen here may indicate land that has come through a stress period from drought or overgrazing, followed by good rain.
