    Aloe marlothii

    Aloe marlothii
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Ivan Lätti

Aloe marlothii is one of the characteristic aloe species of the Sekhukhune Mountain Bushveld area where the De Hoop Dam is positioned on the Steelpoort River. The plant is, of course found more widely in the northeast of South Africa and southern Africa.

This aloe may grow scattered colonies in bushveld landscapes.

    A. spectabilis is a similar species, at one stage sunk into A. marlothii but no longer (Coates Palgrave, 2002; Reynolds, 1974; Jeppe, 1969; iNaturalist; http://redlist.sanbi.org).
