The old Protea subvestita flowerhead is cone-shaped, the wide end by now at the top. The pollen presenters are pink, here protruding from the other colour involucre, the creamy white one. Pollen presenters of both flowerhead colours look like this. Pollen presenters are about 9 mm long, ending in minutely knobbed tips, not really visible here.
Hairy fringes are present on bract tips as well as on the leaves (Manning, 2009; Coates Palgrave, 2002; Rebelo, 1995; Rourke, 1980; iNaturalist).
