    Macledium zeyheri flowering

    Macledium zeyheri flowering
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Jack Lätti

The doll’s protea, Macledium zeyheri, is a delightful smaller citizen of the grassveld of the Magaliesberg. It used to be known as Dicoma zeyheri.

Varied medicinal use of this plant is on record in traditional medicine. The flowers stay pretty in dried form, similar to the everlastings or sewejaartjies.

The plant in picture was caught at the end of the flowering cycle (www.plantzafrica.com).
