Gnidia pinifolia big flower clusters

Gnidia pinifolia big flower clusters
Author: Ivan Lätti
Photographer: MC Botha

Gnidia pinifolia flower clusters may be large, well above the ten flowers often seen. The tubes are not always straight, the opposite pairs of sepal lobes not appearing equal in length when one pair recurves more than the other.

In picture the petals or petal scales spread into the gaps between the sepal lobes, further from white than the sepals and shorter. The tube mouths appear yellowish where the tips of the anthers are usually visible (Manning, 2007; Bean and Johns, 2005; iNaturalist).
